Both of my parents were musicians (mother played gospel, father played jazz) and exposed me to a rich variety of music at home, in church and on the road. My earliest and happiest recollections involve making music with my folks; not just my parents, but also my grandparents, aunts uncles and cousins. Practically everyone in my folks families could make good music.

I mostly draw my musical inspiration from the old Gospel, Country, R&B, Jazz and Blues music my family loved and often performed: American music of the 1930s through the 1960s.

Although I'm not a schooled player, relying on passion more than technique to drive my performances, my family saw to it that I learned about harmony, and to love and respect American music of most every genre through personal participation.

I play music with...

Swingin' Originals The band’s melting-pot of musical influences is the source of it’s unique sound.

Leader David Bandrowski (guitar) sets the tone of the band with his amazing musical vocabulary and background of Early Jazz, Second-Line and Traditional music. Chris Clarke (mandolin) is steeped in Old Time, Folk & Country-Blues traditions. Doug Walker (bass) is a master of Contemporary and Progressive Jazz. Dane Terry (harmonicas) adds a little soul from Gospel and the Blues. The four combine to make a rich, spicy, savory, and altogether original recipe based on a broad (and deep!) variety of American traditional influences.
